CAD to print

Fabrication Bench

A build log for CAD frames, print iteration, tolerance notes, failed parts, and finished assemblies.

CAD bracket, print bed, calipers, and fabrication iteration notes.
Proof assets pending

Primary goal

Connect designed parts to fabricated reality with iteration notes.

Evidence

CAD previews, print photos, failed prints, fit checks, and change notes.

Limit

Real CAD exports and bench photos should replace the generated evidence frames.

What this mission proves

Fabrication work becomes more convincing when the page shows the distance between design intent and physical fit. The best evidence is the measured iteration: what changed, why it changed, and what the part looked like before and after.

Evidence model

This mission should eventually include CAD thumbnails, slicer settings, print photos, caliper measurements, failed-print notes, and assembly shots. The current interface leaves exact slots for those assets.

Current limit

The layout is ready, but the mission needs real media exports to become production proof rather than a structured placeholder.

Trace The Work

Each entry keeps the project inspectable by linking a system state to an evidence expectation.

  1. Design

    CAD constraints

Record mounting hole spacing, clearance assumptions, and material constraints.

  2. Print

    Fabrication pass

Capture slicer settings, print orientation, and support strategy.

  3. Inspect

    Fit check

Measure the part and record what changed for the next revision.

  4. Archive

    Failure notes

Keep warped or weak parts as evidence when they changed the design.

Evidence

Proof Slots

These cards are intentionally concrete. Replace placeholder frames with real logs, screenshots, photos, CAD exports, and code traces as they are available.

Symptom
Visitors scrolled, shrugged, and closed the tab. Nothing stuck.
Root cause
The operator hid behind generic panels. Zero risk taken, zero easter eggs shipped.
Fix
Rebuilt as a living lab: boot sequence, command palette, and a public failure log.
